What is the School Community?

DW provides an intimate learning environment; 25 teachers and administrators support 180 students in K - 5. Our student body is very culturally diverse, and great attention is paid to embracing our multiculturalism.

What are the transportation options?

Three SFUSD bus lines bring students to DW from the Mission, Bayview, Tenderloin and Potrero Hill. The MUNI 19, 22, 48 and 53 bus lines stop within 2 blocks of DW. There is ample street parking. See the map for information on street cleaning days.

What are the before and after school childcare options?

Before school: students may arrive as early as 7:35 when yard supervision begins. In addition, the school provides free breakfast for eligible students. After school: DW's Child Development Center is available for all students on a sliding scale from 2:50 to 5:30 pm.

Is there a Uniform Policy?

Uniform is navy blue pants, skirts or dresses, white or navy blue shirts, blue sweaters.

How is the library?

Our library has an outstanding collection hand selected by SFUSD's head librarian and includes a large selection of Spanish Language books.

Are their Extracurricular and Enrichment Programs?

Yes, DW has many programs to support the whole child. Students have P.E., computer classes, art and music every week. Playworks is a part of the school day as well as the after school program.
